What is the difference between HIV whole blood testing and serum testing?

What is the difference between HIV whole blood testing and serum testing? If the testing time be controlled within 30 mins. There would be no difference between these two ways, because the blood form different parts of the body would show different speed during their climbing on the strip. When the HIV antibody in the serum reaching the testing line and show the red result, the hemoglobin in plasma has not reached the testing section. At this time (within 30mins), the testing result would be no problem. If the time is over 30mins, the hemoglobin with red color could arrive the testing section; it will make some confusion for unprofessional people. But in fact, this is easy to distinguish if you have strip experience. The real red line for testing appearing on the strip would be in cross way. On the other hand comparing with the hemoglobin’s red confusion, its line would be in longitudinal style, from the bottom to the up side.
